Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission upholds victory in a repetitive trauma injury case

On behalf of a health information technician employed at Menard Correctional Center. Matthew Chapman represented the worker, who underwent surgeries for cubital tunnel and carpal tunnel syndrome in her right arm and right hand. The Commission rejected the expert hired by the State of Illinois who opined that the worker's conditions were related to her age, hypertension and arthritis, rather than her work activities. The worker won 15% of the arm and 15% of the hand. Mary Massa, who specializes in appellate practice, argued the decision on appeal.
